First, I'm getting 5% off
"First, I'm getting 5% off my next purchase for writing this review. I want to say that upfront. I'm always annoyed when that's disclosed in tiny print at the bottom of reviews. However! I wouldn't review this at all — or even want to shop this brand again — if I didn't really like this nightstand. I bought and returned 3 different nightstands from different stores before I bought these. I love that they're solid wood (and pine instead of rubber wood, which seems to have an odd look to it) and that they have a "thickness" to them. Not like some other brands where pieces are as thin as poster board. Assembly: They were easy to put together - all I needed to do was screw in the legs, which they include a simple hex screwdriver for. (Like the kind Ikea includes - just an L shape tool. ) The only issue was that the screwdriver handle is too long to screw the bottom screw without bumping into the bottom of the nightstand you're screwing it into. So I had to do a half turn, then remove the screwdriver from the screw head, then start again with another half turn. If you have a regular hex screwdriver you won't have that issue. Anyway, it only took a little bit longer than using a regular screwdriver, and there are only 4 of those screws per nightstand. (There are 8 screws per nightstand total, but there's no issue with the top 4 screws. ) I ordered the blonde one and am really happy with the way the wood looks. Not fake, very clean, and very solid. I didn't realize that the inside bottom of the drawers are lined in white so that was a pleasant surprise. I love the clean lines that will be easy to dust and keep beautiful. I learned from some interior design videos that nightstands should be about level with your bed mattress, and these are the perfect height for a low bed. (Not too low, just not one of those new-fangled American mattresses for the Princess and the Pea. ) Best of all was the price. About $120 per nightstand, which is outstanding for this quality. Lots of nightstands I shopped were around $400 each which I think is insane to pay for such a small piece of furniture. Plus a lot of others are thin, wobbly veneer or fake-looking painted wood grain or even worse, they have fabric drawers. So yeah, I want to shop this brand again. Looking at dressers now."
